NUTRIENT COLOR CODES
Nutrients are represented in a unique color relationship. Orange and Yellow fruits and vegetables contain beta-carotene, zeaxanthin, flavonoids, lycopene, potassium, vitamin C, and calcium. Blue and Purple foods contain lutein, zeaxanthin, resveratrol, vitamin C, fiber, flavonoids, ellagic acid, and quercetin. White colored foods contain beta-glucans, EGCG, SDG(antioxidant substances), and lignans that help boost the immune system. Many times when we are hungry just after a meal, it is because key nutrients are missing and the body cries for balance.
