Fibroids can be a nuisance, heavy cycles, cramping and increase abdominal girth. The presence of these irritants can cause secondary conditions that can be detrimental to health, such as anemia. The frequency of cycles may also contribute to low levels of iron, hemoglobin, and hematocrit. Many clients have shared the benefits of using topical castor oil to decrease the size and/or dissolve fibroids. The frequency of the castor oil packs depend on the size of the fibroids. Twice a week is sufficient for most, but fibroids greater than 10cm in diameter may initially require applications 3 times a week with subsequent tapering. The goal is to decrease applications frequency to once a week until dissolved, but this entails careful case management (follow-ups with ultrasonic monitoring), which means you will have to partner with your physician to monitor progress. This particular remedy is part of my personal testimony.
Let me share what worked for me: Apply topical castor oil onto the skin below the naval, cover with Cling wrap and place a warm pack on top of the wrap (I used a hot water bottle), lie down, quietly for thirty minutes, then shower or wash area and pat dry, twice a week for a period of 30 days. The reason why I did this is because I was scheduled for an ultrasound the next month and wanted to see if there was going to be any changes. Originally, I had 4 small fibroids measuring 2cm in diameter. The ultrasound results showed that one was totally gone and the other had decreased in size. My OB GYN doctor was surprise to see the results. Previously she discussed me the possibility of undergoing a hysterectomy, taking birth control pills or considering fibroid removal. After all I had been through that year, I decided the risk for surgery was greater and opted to use this home remedy instead. During this period, I also noticed that I no longer had to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. The smaller they got, the less pressure was put on the bladder. Earnestly praying was the seal of my healing and I am grateful for this progress.
Remember: These remedies are not for you to replace a regimen or treatment that your doctor may have prescribed. It is better to tell your doctor about what you want to do and together decide what is best. My doctor is very understanding and I appreciate her willingness to listen and to be open to alternative methods.
